in five days, i'm leaving Milwaukee (and a part of my history i would very much like to bury) behind.
at some point over the next two and a half weeks, i'll finally get my hands on my laptop. when i do, i'm going to back up the entries in this LJ - i know i'm going to want to look back over them one day - then delete it.
it's a reminder and a chronicle of a chapter in my life that i'm extremely ashamed of. i've done what i needed to do, said what i needed to say, cried my tears, learned my lessons.

Lostprophet's cover of "Cry Me A River" by Justin Timberlake, rating:*. it's bad. not like Amy Lee singing "Heart Shaped Box" bad, we're talking Rush Limbaugh in a thong singing "Lady Marmalade" bad.
"Kiss From A Rose" sung by Cartman, rating:*****. travesty, yes. but it's so delicious. definitely a must-hear.
AFI's cover of "Head Like A Hole", rating:****. I hate to admit it, but I honestly liked this song. It isn't awesomely bad, just kinda sorta... good. *cowers and waits for lightning to strike*.

You absolutely have the right to dislike / not get along with / have a low opinion of me, but come on people, if you're gonna talk about it, do it to my face. don't waste my friends' time. this he said she said crap is getting really old, and it's hard to keep track of whose turn it is to hate me this week all by myself.
B. Quit blaming your problems on me, as if they'll go away when I do. I promise you that when I'm gone your life will be just as fucked up. Who will you find to blame, then? OMFG ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY... QUICK, WHERE ARE THE OTHER SIX SIGNS OF THE APOCALYPSE????
C. As time passes, people change. It's kind of interesting how people's opinions stay the exact same, even when presented with evidence that suggests new developments. I can understand this, I suppose. It's easier to just not think.
D. For fuck's sake, stop being so judgmental. Since when are you such a paragon of virtue, so righteous and wise and absolved of all mistakes that you can look down on me and say that you would have done any better in my shoes?

approx. time it took Nigel to freehand design/complete henna tattoo: 3 hours
approx. time spent under the needle: 3.5 hours
end result: one pleased Meggy.
( it's a pretty complex design, here are some more pixors. hopefully, i'll get my hands on something higher quality than a webcam in the near future )
to put it succinctly, that thing hurt like a motherfucker.
the artist was awesome, though, and the results are well worth it.
honestly, i think i may be putting my wish for a full back piece to rest for awhile until that lovely selective amnesia sets in and i can lust after another tat without cringing.
and yes, i most definitely am wusstastic.

yesterday was suckage...
in a way that only certain crossbreeds of ShopVacs and wind tunnels had previously achieved.
On the plus side, I met up with Nigel (who, just for the record, has been elevated to the status of demigod), and now have a gorgeous custom-designed henna tattoo on my upper arm.
If it doesn't cost too terribly much, I'm getting the outline done at Tsunami Ink tomorrow.

yesterday was a rather excellent one- every muscle in my body screams when i so much as think about moving, and i'm absolutely exhausted. kinda sorta need to sleep now.
problem - it's 81 degrees outside.
between that and the fact that there's another person sharing my sleepspace at the moment, it's like trying to snooze in hell.
I'm alaskan, for chrissakes. I go out in a bikini top and Daisy Duke style cutoffs when the mercury hits 65.
At 85-90, I practically cease to exist.
